🔥 Soup & swordplay
Chapter 2 of Firewords Issue 17
Welcome to week two! This week, we meet the future. And whether this future is full of exciting possibilities or bittersweet inevitabilities, it’s sure going to be an adventure finding out.
First we have the relationship between mother and daughter at a pivotal point in their lives, and the uncertain journey of maternal bonds that have only just been tied in a loving bow; then we reflect on whether romantic discords today can pave the way for the uncoupling and unraveling of happiness. It’s fun and games around the Campfire this week…
Enjoy, and see you back here in two weeks’ time.

“Okay,” Carla shrieked from the French doors across the room, “it’s time for the big reveal!”
The DJ cut the music. The crowd went silent and looked up through the conservatory’s glass ceiling. A firework shot up into the peaceful sky. It hung in the heavens for a moment, almost as if having second thoughts, before exploding.
“What on earth does that mean?” Jane said, unfortunately loudly, as purple and blue and pink and green and gold sparkles burned hot and fast.
